The above dates refer to the Long-Term Plan timetable data that is made available by Network Rail via DTD to journey planners, the reservations system and other rail retail systems. Some of those journey planners impose earlier end dates and not show timetables for travel on dates more than 12 weeks in advance.
Short-Term Plan alterations for engineering work, public holidays, etc, will not be present until nearer the date of travel - this includes cancellations for Christmas Day & Boxing Day. The availability of Short-Term Plan data may differ from one route to another as it is dependent on the workload of the individual TOCs and Network Rail train planning sections - the rail industry aspiration for this is 12 weeks ahead of the date of travel.
The above is based on information contained in the Network Rail "Calendar of Milestone Dates", and may be subject to alteration without any formal notification.
